This rule should've been listed as "i" under other general rules but for some reason item "c" is missing so it didn't appear as it should've. The rule was brought in due to the competitions being run over a single day and the fact that the winner gets to go to Champions of Champions.
i) Players must play in 6 matches prior to opening round of the League Singles events unless otherwise advertised. Players who fail to meet the criteria may apply for dispensation from the League. In Doubles, only one player of the pair needs to meet the criteria.
Generally speaking, if a player has a recent history of playing in the league then I'll allow them to play, if not, I won't. Though I will take other senarios into consideration upon application. This is no different to other leagues in the area.
The Ladies is an truly "open event" as if it wasn't then we wouldn't have a Ladies event

Streety like everyone else knew the qualification criteria and unless there is extenuating circumstance as to why he couldn't fulfil said criteria, such as a broken arm (can be arranged), he misses out.
Unfortunately, the Ex-Bucks England player belives that a person of his stature shouldn't be forced into the weekly grind of actually playing in the league week in week out....

Nice to see you hold the old man in such regard but there are a number of players in the field who could certainly beat me, as they could anyone, over best of 5 especially in the early rounds.
Interestingly, the person who knocks me out has more often than not gone on to win it, so rather than hoping to avoid the mingster, they should be hoping to play me as history shows they'd have a chance of winning it
