Is it time to close the forum?!?

As everyone is probably aware, the number of posts has gone down dramatically over the last few months.  We're now only getting an average of 1 or 2 posts a day which is well down on the 5 or so we used to reguarly average.  Looking at the statistics it was last April (when the winter leagues finished) when everyone went very quiet.  This graph of monthly comments shows this dramatically:

Interestingly the number of visits to the forum has remained pretty stable at around 20000 a month, but I suspect many of those might not be real people!

It's be a shame to close the forum when we're only 50000 or so hits away from our 2 millionth visit, and only a year short of our 10th birthday anniversary!

 

So, I guess this is a 'use it or lose it' plea, as I don't think it's worth continuing with it unless there is more input from the members.  So, get posting!

I hope people do start using it more, I don't think you should close it. Trouble is more people are now using Facebook. Something needs to be done to encourage the players to post a bit more on here, I look at it almost every day but if nothing new is posted then I don't, maybe I should change my ways.

Would be a shame to lose it, but must people use Facebook & twitter mainly because of mobile push notification, I think the biggest issue this make of forum it's not easy to post or great for viewing on a mobile phone. You could look at Vanilla or bbpress happy to help out if you need me too.

      I just popped in to say hello and thought this would be the appropriate thread to post on, as the last time I logged on was 7th October 2012. (exactly 6 months ago ......... well you know I like stats lol)

It's sad cry to see that this is not used anymore, as it was the best place to get the quickest updates/information on most things to do with Oxford pool.

I would suggest close it on the 10th anniversary next January unless it rapidly improves over this year.

That's not a bad idea, Lucky.  Posts were up quite considerably last month as the leagues drew to and end, but now we enter the quiet summer period, so I'll keep a watching brief...

      About time Ash (sadly) doh and it only took you 10 years to listen to me lol. wink (btw was lol about 10 years ago lmao)

But saying that, I wished it was one you hadn't of listened too, as I stated in a previous post I Will be sad to see it go, and although I didn't log in for long periods I was always there watching and reading. wink
