Town v Gown - LADIES

Its the annual Town v Gown match happening tonight at the Crown House Club from 7pm
This year's match will be played to world rules.

Any supporters welcome!

Representing the town team will be:

Jaz Venning (c)
Carrie Francombe
Hannah Francombe
Charli Viner
Lorraine Owen

The students probably start the match as slight favourites as current holders, and the rule set will also favour them better as the town players are more familiar with blackball rules. But come on the TOWN team - lets win our trophy back!!

Yeah, well done to the Town on a deserved win.  I think both John and myself (as coaches) were fairly pleased with the Gown's performance, bearing in mind for the first time I many years we didn't have Conny in the team, and were also missing Hannah Beaven and Louise Marshall from last years squad.  With our only other really established player, Hazel Shepherd, not being available it meant that captain Shaina was the only player in the team who had any prior experience of Town V Gown.

The change of rules definitely helped us a little, but the two fouls from Ellie and Jess certainly didn't!  Hopefully next year will see an improvement as several Gown players will be back, more experienced, and hungry for success!
