Smoking Ban

Ok it's evident this ban will soon be in place and all the Clubs and Pubs which we play our Pool in will have to enforce it.

Me, personally, as a non smoker I am looking forward to a smoke free environment. How do you guys feel, do you think it's a step in the right direction? or will it have a negative effect on Pool?

Isty I could not agree more !

I have been in a lot of bars, restuarants and even pool halls in the USA and they are all non smoking, its great no choking atmosphere and your clothes do not reek when you leave.

I am all for it but I would encourage places to provide a designated smoking area outside the premises to keep our taxes down !

I am all for having non-smoking places as a non smoker myself, but just worried about the effect it will have on the pool community as people like to have a smoke while they are out ?

Will this mean people will not play at all ?

Or will it mean they will come out to play and then leave once they have played ?

There are alot of players who already do this anyway.

I am a smoker, and personally think it is a good thing too.

Hopefully it might make it easier for me to give the habit up!!

I don't think you will lose many of the higher level pool players because they would still want to be out there playing the game.

It might mean that people don't practice as often though..

I am in Fort Worth at the moment and nearly all places are smoke free its great and these tables are so easy to pot on - almost can't miss and well the flukes over here are so much better than there but there are some very strange local rules here though.

The atmosphere will change it will be CLEAN and your clothes don't reek afterwards like in England !
