With so many players performing well at the finals, I wonder what the Team line ups will be in 2006??
With the rumour that the likes of Nathan Ball, Tom Weeks and Phil Collins are all attending trials, also with the possible return of Paul Watson and Isty, it could be interesting.
Will the intro of Black Ball Rules see a shift in power??
What do people think will be the line up at the start of the season then??
With so many players being retained , who would you pick???.....

Don't Lee ... the Asparins are on order!! Exciting times.
I agree with Beefy, until these players show up then don't believe a word. I have heard Danny Ganter is also coming, but then I have heard that for the past 3 years !!!
I also think that the Blackball rules will make the trials a bit lottery as the rules have still to be finalised at the top level, yet we are holding trials on them !!!

I suggested to John that players retained should still attend to have a few games of Blackball to familiarize themselves with it. Who else will be going from on here then??
Lee, I'm with you. Let Beefy the numpty whack his balls off the table on his own.
I think it's a good idea that those people not needing to enter the trials should go to Colours to play some games to get more accustomed to the new rules. I'd rather spend my time doing that than playing random shots for no reason other than to satisfy your need to be the centre of attention.
It wasn't that at all just that recently you said you came up with a shot more luckier than me it was meant as a tongue in cheek thing but obviously cats don't get jokes.
I will be there also to have a practice but I think that a proper practice day should be organised after the squad is picked.
Perhaps one of Kevins double eliminator matches like last year would be a good idea.

Considering the trials didn't finish until about 8 last year, i don't think there will be time for any comps after !!!!

Always up for a challenge Beefy, no matter how strange it might be!! If all the tables are in use, maybe we could have a 9-ball challenge?? Should suit your sort of game!!
Funny you should say that it does as I only have to pot one ball to win the game - why not....

Yep and I the one with all the "JAM" in it.

The bowyers might just win a few by default then if that happens again....

Hi, the Emperor returns. All this stupid anti this and that was stopping me getting on here but unfortunately for you suckers i'm back.
Trials will be one frame matches with the "dish back" rule in force. There's also the Pub Pool Challenge event so we don't want to be there all night.

One frame?? that's crap. Luckiest player qualifies then........ is that how you got in Hollis???
"Dish Back Rule".... so the other player breaks and clears...... you break, come up dry, shake hands and that is a loss for you...............mmmmm....fantastic!!
I personally think best of 3 is the only way for trials to be.
Swiss system, 3 losses and you are out.
I know lots of people are going to say "County is only one frame pool!!..." and very right they are too,
BUT
There are different types of players....... tactical (grinders like Kev and Malc), Potters (maniacs like Jimmy and sometimes me) and there are whackers (hit and hopers like Hollis.......only kidding Keith!)......
Anyway the point I was going to make is that over the best of 3 each player gets the opportunity to play their type of game. You can't make a potter out of a fudger Kev (you should know that!!), but there are some very good "Fudgers" out there that justify a place in the county team as much as the next guy/girl....
Yup, I agree. Especially with the new rules, people may end up getting through the trials just because they didn't forget one of the new rules which at this stage of their implementation may be a bit unfair.
