Congratulations to "Pistol" Pete on qualifying this weekend for the EPA World Championships.
He battled it out along with over 450 other players to win a place to play in the finals in Blackpool in June. (only the last 4 qualify).
This is a massive achievement, there are a lot of top pros in this event and the standard is superb. I believe the only other way to qualify is to be playing for a national team at the event.
It will see him line up against the likes of Mick Hill, Gareth Potts, Jason Twist etc, etc..
I know he didn't have a great season for Rover in the Thursday night league, but it is great to see him back playing the standard of pool we all know he is capable of.
Good Luck at the finals PISTOL!!! Hopefully see you on the TV Stages!!
Btw, I refereed Petes final match at Yarmouth, finished at about 11.30pm.
Now I'm a B grade referee there's a good chance I'll be refereeing at the World Championships too.
The Ladies World Championships qualifiers are on Saturday 29th April at Stoke on Trent which I've entered. let's see if I can do the double for Oxford.
Unfortunately I didn't qualify this year but I have been asked to go to referee the championships from the 5th - 12th June. I'll be there till the finish though so I can watch the televised stages at the end of next week.
Pete plays in a qualifier round at 12.30pm on Wednesday 7th June against Lee Flinter (Spain).
